#TCCSoftball falls in walk-off fashion at Gulf Coast State

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (April 12, 2018) – A walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh sent Gulf Coast State College to a 3-2 win over Tallahassee Community College on Thursday evening. 

Tallahassee is now 10-32-1 (0-16 Panhandle Conference). 

Trailing 2-1 entering the seventh, Olivia Russell singled to lead off the inning and scored the tying run on Monica Marquez' double. Marquez advanced to third on a fly out to right but the Eagles couldn't get her home with the go-ahead run. 

In the bottom half, Sam Sisco bunted her way on to lead things off and wound up at third on a throwing error. The next batter, Kaylee Raines, singled Sisco home for the winning run. 

Tallahassee scored the first run of the game in its first at-bat. 

Jaycee Thomas drew a leadoff walk and scored on Samantha Malik's triple. 

Sidney Mathis threw well despite getting a no-decision for Tallahassee. She struck out seven and allowed only five hits in six innings. Shaquoya Williams (3-7) pitched the seventh and took the loss. 

Marquez went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
