#TCCSoftball drops home tilt with Gulf Coast State
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 6, 2019) – The final round of the Panhandle Conference softball schedule commenced on Saturday and Tallahassee Community College dropped a 5-1 decision to Gulf Coast State College.
The loss eliminated Tallahassee (16-30, 3-14 PC) from postseason contention.
Emma Fowler (2-13) took the loss in the circle for the Eagles, but delivered a gallant effort, allowing just two runs after the Commodores' Dixie Guesnard smacked a three-run homer in the first.
Gulf Coast State added single runs in the fifth and sixth.
Tallahassee got on the board in the seventh. Dev Ferguson drew a one-out walk and scored all the way from first when Katelyn Hobbs' shot to the right-centerfield gap was mishandled by Commodore centerfielder Sam Sisco.
Monica Marquez was 3-for-3 for Tallahassee.
The Eagles will travel to Northwest Florida State College on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game with the Raiders.
