#TCCSoftball drops close one at NWF State

NICEVILLE, Fla. (April 10, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team dropped a 7-6 decision at Northwest Florida State College on Wednesday.

With the loss, Tallahassee fell to 16-31 on the season, 3-15 in Panhandle Conference play.

The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead after their first at-bat, courtesy of Katelyn Hobbs' leadoff homer and a bases-loaded walk to River Glenn

Northwest Florida State answered in the bottom of the first, tying the game against Tallahassee starter Emma Fowler (2-14). The Raiders eventually led 5-2 through three innings.

The Eagles pulled within 5-3 in the fourth when Dyamond Brown raced home from third on a passed ball, but the Raiders scored twice in the bottom half to open up a 7-3 lead.

Olivia Russell scored on Glenn's RBI-groundout in the fifth and Brown's two-run single in the seventh completed the Eagles' scoring.

Hobbs went 2-for-4 with the homer. Glenn and Brown had two RBIs each.
