Davis, Jeffcoat nab FCSAA All-State honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 8, 2021) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has announced its All-State baseball and softball teams and Tallahassee Community College nabbed a spot on each.

Softball's Jania Davis grabbed first-team honors while baseball's Trent Jeffcoat was a second-team pick.

Davis' honor comes of the heels of being named the Panhandle Conference Player of the Year last month.

A native of Atlanta, Ga., the sophomore centerfielder appeared in 38 games this season.

Her .477 batting average led the Panhandle Conference, and she was even better in conference play, batting .493 over 20 games.

Davis also swiped a team-high 31 stolen bases in 32 attempts and finished the season with 31 runs scored, three doubles, five triples and 14 RBI.

She is the first Tallahassee player to earn First-team All-State honors since 2014.

Meanwhile, Jeffcoat, a native of Pensacola, Fla., played in 44 games, primarily as the Eagles' starting second baseman, although he also logged time at shortstop.

He led the Eagles with a .368 batting average, 31 runs scored and 21 stolen bases. He also drove in 24 runs, third-best on the team.
