Brittany Michael tosses no-no at CMI

LONGWOOD, Fla. (February 27, 2023) — It was a successful weekend for the Eagles at the Courtney Miller Invitational. They won three of their four games and improved to 10-4 on the season. The highlight of the weekend was a no-hitter thrown by sophomore right-hander Brittany Michael, thrown against Seminole State on Saturday afternoon. Michael took a perfect game into the sixth before allowing a walk. The Eagles had an eight-run lead, which ended the game early. Michael's no-hitter was the first for the Eagles since 2014, when Mariah Rivera did it against Andrew College in February 2014

The no-hitter came after an exciting 5-4 win over Miami Dade. The Eagles trailed 4-3 going into the bottom of the seventh, but a walk-off, two-run home run from Kailynn James sealed the victory. It was James' fifth home run of the season, and she would hit her sixth later in the weekend against St. John's River.

TCC dropped their first game against Central Florida on Sunday morning, getting shutout by Patriots' starter Haley Guffey, recording just two hits. They bounced back in their final game against St. John's River, but needed another comeback effort to win the game. The Eagles tallied four home runs in the game against St. John's River: two from Raven Little, and one each from Brooke Michael and Kailynn James

The Eagles head to Tifton, Georgia this Thursday to take on ABAC. TCC swept their home double header against ABAC on February 7th.
