Eagles cruise in Capital Courtyard Classic opener

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 25, 2014) – Wendion Bibbins recorded a double-double – 11 points and 10 rebounds – and three other players scored in double-figures as FCSAA No. 3 Tallahassee Community College scored an 87-37 win over Southern Union State (Ala.) Community College on Tuesday evening in opening day action at the Capital Courtyard Classic.

Marija Pacar led all players with 17 points. Aiyannah Peal added 12 and Jeremica Edwards scored 10.

Tallahassee limited the Bison to 28.1 percent (16-of-57) shooting for the game and 2-of-18 (11.1 percent) from the three-point line. Eleven first half turnovers, however, helped limit the Eagles to just 37 points and an 18-point lead.

The second half was all Tallahassee.

The Eagles put 50 points on the board on the strength of 18-of-33 (54.5 percent) shooting.

The second half also saw Pacar break out of a recent shooting slump. She hit 5-of-7 shots after the break and scored 12 of her 17 points.

The Eagles also dominated the glass, outrebounding Southern Union 54-25.

Tallahassee will continue play in the Capital Courtyard Classic at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Daytona State College.
