#TCCBasketball: Eagle women win big, improve to 3-0

MIAMI, Fla. (November 8, 2016) – Behind another big night from freshman guard Jas Hill, Region 8 No. 3 Tallahassee Community College defeated Miami Dade College 111-58 on Tuesday evening.

Tallahassee is now 3-0 while Miami Dade drops to 0-3.

Hill enjoyed a career night, scoring 35 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor (5-of-6 three-pointers) and 10-of-11 from the free throw line.

Meanwhile, the 111 points marked the Eagles' highest scoring output under coach Franqua "Q" Bedell, who picked up win No. 50 as Tallahassee's head coach, and their most points in a game since scoring 119 against North Florida Community College on January 30, 2002.

Three other players scored in double-figures for Tallahassee.

Lawriell Wilson had 16 and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds. Former Tallahassee North Florida Christian School standout Rosanna Jenije also had 16.

Janessa Murphy added 15 points.

Both teams came out firing on all cylinders, each on pace for just under triple-digits.

Miami Dade led 23-20 after the first ten minutes and scored the first basket of the second quarter, but Tallahassee erased a five-point deficit with a 23 unanswered points, ending with Japonica James' basket with 4:03 left in the first half that put the Eagles in front 43-25.

Hill knocked down one of her five three-point baskets with 28 seconds remaining as the Eagles outscored Miami Dade 35-8 in the second quarter to take a 55-31 lead to the locker room.

Tallahassee put together another dominating stretch in the third quarter, using a 21-0 run to outscore the Sharks 34-13 and carry an 89-44 lead to the fourth.

Hill, fittingly, pushed the Eagles across the century mark on a basket with 6:17 left in the game.

Tallahassee will take a week off before hosting Santa Fe College on November 15 at 5:30 p.m.
