#TCCBasketball: Women roll to fourth straight win

ATHENS, Texas (November 25, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team won its fourth straight game on Friday, defeating McLennan (Texas) Community College, 101-63, on day one action at the Budke/Serna Classic hosted by Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College.

Since falling to Santa Fe College on November 15, Tallahassee has won four straight games – by an average of almost 37 points per game – to improve to 7-1.

The Eagles turned a close game into a runaway with a dominant fourth quarter.

Leading 65-53, Tallahassee opened the fourth with nine unanswered points to increase its lead to 21. After a free throw and basket pulled McLennan back within 18, Tallahassee put the game away with another offensive surge.

Hill connected from long distance at the 5:33 mark, and ten seconds later, Janessa Murphy converted the "and-1" to cap a 10-0 run and give the Eagles an 84-56 advantage.

Tallahassee held McLennan without a basket and just five total points over the final 5:10 to cap a 36-10 fourth quarter.

Hill scored 12 of her game-high 33 points in the decisive fourth quarter to pace four players in double-figures for Tallahassee. She hit 9-of-19 attempts from the floor (4-of-9 three-pointers) and 11-of-15 from the free throw line, including 5-of-8 in the final ten minutes.

Murphy followed Hill's big offensive night with 18 points. Emani Clough scored a career-high 16, and Lindsay John added 12.

Tallahassee led 23-13 after the first quarter and 39-28 at the intermission. The Eagles outscored McLennan 26-25 in the third quarter, as both teams had no trouble putting points on the board.

The Eagles will play their second game of the Classic at 11 a.m. Saturday morning against Panola (Texas) College.
