#TCCBasketball: Eagle women beat No. 15 Walters State for tenth straight win

NICEVILLE, Fla. (December 15, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team won its tenth straight game on Thursday, defeating NJCAA No. 15 Walters (Tenn.) State Community College, 85-66, at the Northwest Florida State College Winter Classic. 

Since losing at home to Santa Fe College on November 15, Tallahassee has rattled off ten straight victories and enters the holiday break at 13-1. During the winning streak, the Eagles have won by an average of 29.5 points. 

Thursday also marked Tallahassee's third win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season, each coming by at least 18 points. 

Tallahassee led 19-14 after one quarter and extended its lead to 13 (43-30) at the half. Walters State stayed within striking distance, outscoring the Eagles in the third, 22-18. 

Tallahassee finally put the game away with a 20-4 run to open the fourth and eventually led by as many as 25 points (81-56). 

Lawriell Wilson led the Eagles with 33 points and 13 rebounds. Japonica James added a double-double of her own, 13 points and 10 rebounds.
