#TCCBasketball: Wilson, James named All-America by WBCA

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 21, 2017) – The accolades continue to mount for Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team.

Sophomore guard Lawriell Wilson and freshman forward Japonica James have been named First-team All-America by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA).

Wilson and James are the only teammates on the WBCA's 10-player Junior/Community College Coaches' All-America team. They are also the first WBCA All-Americans in school history for Tallahassee.

Wilson, a native of Kenner, La., and already named the Panhandle Conference and FCSAA State Player of the Year, is currently averaging 22.0 points per game, tied for second in the country.

James, who is from Mobile, Ala., was the Panhandle Conference Freshman of the Year and joined Wilson on the FCSAA All-State First-team and FCSAA All-Tournament Team.

The duo will lead Tallahassee into its first NJCAA Tournament appearance since 2001 when it faces Shelton (Ala.) State Community College at 9 p.m. Tuesday evening.
