GAINESVILLE, Fla. (November 7, 2017) – Japonica James had a third straight double-double and two other players scored in double figures to lead NJCAA No. 7/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee Community College past Santa Fe College, 91-67, on Tuesday evening.
The Eagles are now 3-0 on the young season.
James, named the Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week earlier on Tuesday, scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the victory.
Nakiah Black and Ayanna Mazyck led the Eagles with 19 points each.
After claiming a 23-16 lead through one quarter, the Eagles outscored Santa Fe 30-18 in the second and enjoyed a comfortable 53-34 lead at the intermission.
Tallahassee led by as many as 29 in the fourth quarter before settling for the 24-point win.
Defensively, the Eagles forced 36 turnovers and outrebounded the Saints 48-31.
