#TCCBasketball: Eagles roll to 12th straight win

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 17, 2017) - Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball teams scored the first basket of the game and never looked back, leading the entire way en route to a 109-43 victory over visiting Palm Beach State College on Sunday afternoon.

The victory marks Tallahassee's 12th consecutive win to begin the 2017-18 season, extending its school record.

Tallahassee's offense was a focal point in the win as the Eagles put up over 100 points for the sixth time this season. Prior to last season, when the Eagles scored triple-digits eight times, Tallahassee had only reached the century mark nine times in school history.

Leading the Eagles in the first half was Japonica James with 17 points on a very efficient 6-for-8 shooting.

In the second half, Tallahassee would continue to pull away, leading by as many as 69 points (109-40) late in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles were able to force an astonishing 30 turnovers that led to 28 points. Head coach Franqua "Q" Bedell said it was nothing new.

"We do it every day...That's something we want to accomplish night in and night out," Bedell said.

Jas Hill's three-point shot was alive in Sunday's victory. The sophomore made eight shots from beyond-the-arc, tying the school record she already shared, which made up most of her 34 points. She would add a career-high nine assists and nine rebounds.

Bedell spoke highly of both Hill and James, Tallahassee's two leading scorers, following Sunday's victory

"They've done a great job understanding that they're the leaders now… This is their team, their legacy."

Bedell says the best is still to come from this Tallahassee women's basketball team.

"We continue to try to critique and show them where we're not very good, and they seem to answer the call night in and night out...It's been fun to watch."

Tallahassee will hit the road for its next game at East Georgia State College on Tuesday.
