#TCCBasketball: Defending champs open with rout

Both the 104 points scored and 66-point margin of victory established school records for a season opener. The win was also head coach Franqua "Q" Bedell's 100th as head coach at Tallahassee.

Saturday's game was never in doubt.

Although they started a little slow, the Eagles led 24-11 after one quarter then put the game away with one of their patented bursts.

Tallahassee outscored Central Georgia Tech in the second quarter, 36-7, and led 60-18 at the half. It was 81-32 after three quarters, and the Eagles delivered another single-digit effort defensively in the fourth, outscoring the Titans, 23-6.

Central Georgia Tech didn't make a field goal in the final quarter until Victoria Brown's basket in the paint with 42 seconds remaining.

Defensively, Tallahassee held Central Georgia Tech to 25.0 percent (13-of-52) shooting and forced 33 turnovers, which netted 44 points and led to a 62-16 advantage in the paint.
