#TCCBasketball: Eagle women blow past St. Pete

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 10, 2018) – NJCAA No. 5/Region 8 No. 3 Tallahassee Community College picked up its third win of the season, defeating St. Petersburg College, 106-70, on the final day of the Courtyard Tallahassee Downtown/Capital Classic. 

The Eagles are 3-0 on the season, having hit the century mark in each game thus far. 

Another balanced scoring effort accompanied Saturday's win as five players scored in double-figures. 

Daisha Bradford paced the Eagles with 18 points. Jada Perry and Jamyra McChristine had 16 points each. Juliunn Redmond added 15 and Tamia Riles, 13. 

Tallahassee scored the first nine points of the game and the rout was on. The Eagles eventually led by as many as 26 before ending the first quarter with a 33-9 lead. 

St. Petersburg hit just one of 13 field goal attempts and committed 13 turnovers in the quarter. 

The Titans settled down and played much better over the final three quarters and even outscored Tallahassee in the second, 22-19. Still, the Eagles held a 52-31 lead at the half. 

Tallahassee led 76-47 through three and the lead grew to as many as 39 on Rushell Jacob's putback with 2:07 left in the game. 

Tallahassee will hit the road for its next three games beginning with Tuesday night's trip to Florida State College-Jacksonville. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.

In high school action during the Classic, Westridge (N.C.) Academy picked up wins over TPLS (Va.) Christian Academy (73-53) and Impact (Fla.) Academy (71-21) while TPLS defeated Impact (72-55).
