#TCCBasketball: Pearce nets 32 as Eagles improve to 12-0

MARIANNA, Fla. (December 8, 2018) – Sophomore guard Victoria Pearce scored a career-high 32 points to lead NJCAA No. 3/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee Community College to a 111-67 win over Central Georgia Technical College on day two of the Chipola College Classic. 

The Eagles are now 12-0 on the season and extended their school-record winning streak to 17 games dating back to last season.

Pearce hit 13-of-19 shots from the field overall and 3-of-6 three-pointers, and her career day also included six rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks. 

Unlike Friday's win over Florida State College at Jacksonville, Tallahassee got off to a fast start on Saturday. The Eagles scored the game's first six points and led 12-2 just three minutes in after Pearce scored off a Titans turnover. 

Leading 23-13, Tallahassee doubled its lead in the final two minutes of the quarter. Twelve unanswered points, capped by a three-point play by Pearce, put the Eagles in front by a dozen and the lead was 35-15 after one quarter. 

The pace slowed down in the second, as Tallahassee scored only 14 points and led 49-28 at the half. 

The Eagles hit the 30-point mark in both the third and fourth quarters, outscoring Central Georgia Tech, 62-39, after the intermission. 

Tallahassee closed strong on both ends in the fourth, shutting out the Titans from the floor over the final seven minutes and outscoring them, 18-5. 

Tamia Riles hit a three-pointer with 3:42 left to push the Eagles over the century mark, extending their record of five straights games in triple digits while establishing a school mark with its ninth 100-point game of the season. 

Riles finished with 10 points, one of three players to back up Pearce with double-digit efforts of their own. 

Jada Perry had her second straight double-double with 17 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. The 19 rebounds are tied for the fifth-best single-game performance in school history and are the most in a game for Tallahassee since current assistant coach Karley Barnes pulled down 19 against St. Petersburg College on November 10, 2012. 

Juliunn Redmond added 11 points. 

Tallahassee will return to action on Monday when it travels to Palm Beach State College for a 5:30 game against the Panthers.
