#TCCBasketball: Redmond’s 32 leads Eagles past Broward

DAVIE, Fla. (December 11, 2018) – Juliunn Redmond's career-high 32 points led NJCAA No. 3/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee Community College to a 96-67 win over Region 8 No. 7 Broward College on Tuesday evening.

Tallahassee returns home from a two-game swing through the Southern Conference with its perfect record intact at 14-0. The Eagles have now won 19 straight games dating back to last season.

Broward brought a 7-3 record into Tuesday's game, including a win over nationally-ranked Florida SouthWestern State College. However, a 92-90 overtime loss to No. 5 and unbeaten Chipola College may have been the attention-getter for the Eagles, as to the Seahawks' potential for pulling the upset. After one quarter on Tuesday, the game was up for grabs with the Eagles leading by just five, 19-14.

Redmond scored ten points in the quarter and added ten more in what proved to be a decisive second quarter. Tallahassee outscored Broward, 26-11, in the second to open up a 45-25 lead at the intermission.

Redmond shot 13-of-24 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

For the second straight night, Tallahassee put up 51 points in the second half to continue pulling away and stave off any notion of an upset.

Dai'Shona Washington-Polk came off the bench to score 15 points. Daisha Bradford, held scoreless in the first half, scored 12 points after the break.

The Eagles will travel to St. Petersburg College on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game against the Titans, their final game before the Christmas break.
