#TCCBasketball: Eagle women head to break 15-0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (December 15, 2018) – NJCAA No. 3/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee Community College staved off St. Petersburg College's upset bid on Saturday, defeating the Titans, 85-71, in its final game before the holiday break. 

By winning, the Eagles matched their best start in school history, improving to 15-0 for the second straight season, and extended their school-record winning streak to 20 games dating back to last season. 

Tallahassee entered Saturday's game with an average margin of victory of 43.8 points per game, including a 36-point win over St. Petersburg on November 10. The Eagles, however, never led by more than nine points at the end of the first three quarters. 

Tallahassee got off to a fast start and led 26-17 after the first quarter, but the host Titans won the second quarter, 23-19, to pull with five (45-40) at the intermission. 

The Eagles took a 68-60 lead to the fourth, the first time this season an opponent has been within single-digits through three quarters, and limited St. Petersburg to just 11 points in the final quarter. 

Five players scored in double-figures for Tallahassee, led by Jada Perry's 15. Aliyah Lawson scored 14, as did Jamyra McChristine, who was seeing her first action since sustaining an injury on November 20.

Daisha Bradford and Juliunn Redmond tossed in 13 points each.
