#TCCWXC knocks off Chipola to claim Chipola XC Invite

MARIANNA, Fla. (September 30, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's women's cross country team picked up a dual meet win over Chipola College on Friday to claim the first place trophy at the Chipola XC Invite. 

The Eagles registered 26 points to outdistance the host Indians' total of 31 points. 

The course at Citizen's Lodge Park proved to be a fast one, as all eight Tallahassee runners recorded personal best times on Friday. 

For the third straight race, the Eagles were paced by Samantha Reilly, who completed the 5K in 21:01.38, lowering her school record time by 1:57, good for second place behind Chipola's Nicole Morse. 

Monet Madeux recorded the Eagles' second-fastest time with a 21:33.53 (-3:02), good for fourth place. Mia Wiederkehr was right behind Madeux in fifth place with a time of 21:40.81 (-1:48). 

Ashley Jones, Ellie Stubblefield and Jeanna Prisco finished seventh through ninth, respectively. Jones ran a 23:23.71 (-4:21) while Stubblefield finished in 23:52.43 (-3:51) and Prisco, 24:09.22 (-2:28). 

Jasmine Green finished 13th with a time of 26:40.00 (-2:29) while Regan Ward finished 14th with a time of 27:21.71 (-1:25). 

Reilly, Madeux, Wiederkehr, Jones and Stubblefield scored for the Eagles, who picked up their first-ever dual meet victory. 

Up next for Tallahassee will be the FSU Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park on Friday, October 7.
