#TCCWXC: Eagles off to Kansas for NJCAA meet

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 10, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's women's cross country will head to El Dorado, Kan., on Friday morning to compete in Saturday's NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.

Butler Community College is the host school for the event, which begins at 12 p.m. eastern on Saturday with the women's 5K.

Tallahassee took third place in the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Cross Country Championship on November 4, finishing behind state champion Pasco-Hernando State College and runners-up South Florida State College. Both schools will join Tallahassee in Kansas, providing the Eagles with one final opportunity to measure the progress made in their inaugural season.

"I want the ladies to savor the experience of being at a big-time meet, so those who make the trip again next year will not feel the slightest hint of intimidation that sometimes afflicts new programs," said Tallahassee head coach Gary Droze. "We want to run and be joyful."

Tallahassee will take seven runners to Kansas – Samantha Reilly, Mia Wiederkehr, Monet Madeux, Ashley Jones, Ellie Stubblefield, Regan Ward and Jeanna Prisco. Reilly and Wiederkehr finished sixth and seventh, respectively, at last week's region championship meet to earn a spot on the All-NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA All-State team.

Reilly has been the team's top runner in each event this fall, posting a personal record of 20:51.7 at the FSU Invitational in October.
