Alyssa Spagnoli named Region 8 Runner of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 12, 2023) — Alyssa Spagnoli was named the NJCAA Region 8 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday morning, following her 13th place finish at the TCC Open last week. Spagnoli finished with the best time amongst Region 8 participants in the event, with the top 12 finishers all coming from Florida State University and Florida A&M University. She is the first runner in program history to win the award. 

Spagnoli clocked in at 23:04:00 in the 5K, the fastest time for a TCC runner in that event since 2019. 

The Eagles will have this weekend off before traveling to Pensacola next Friday to compete in the Lifecycle Tax Advisors Argonaut Invitational on the University of West Florida campus. Their next meet in Tallahassee comes on September 29 in the Florida State XC Invite at Apalachee Regional Park.
