Bio

Mia Wiederkehr, a member of Tallahassee Community College's inaugural women's cross country team, and a TCC graduate, is in her first season as an assistant coach under Gary Droze.

Wiederkehr, a native of Bradenton, Fla., enrolled at TCC in 2016, when she ran her first season of cross country. She placed seventh at the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Championships and earned a spot on the All-NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA All-State team. Wiederkehr later participated in her first national championships events, finishing in the Top 200 at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships and 38th at the NJCAA Half Marathon, where she helped the Eagles to a tenth-place finish.

Wiederkehr did not run in 2017, giving priority to her academic responsibilities as a student in the College's dental hygiene program. She continued to run in her free time, however, and returned to the trails in 2018. In her final cross country race, she posted a PR of 21:30.9 at the FCSAA Championships and finished 14th. She also ran her second NJCAA Half Marathon and was the Eagles' top finisher in 22nd.

With her NJCAA cross country career finished, Wiederkehr turned her attention to the track in the Spring of 2019, where she was again part of an inaugural season for the Eagles. She recorded the program's first-ever individual win with an impressive 800m run at the prestigious FAMU Relays and qualified for the NJCAA Championships with a win at the Alice Coachman Invitational. She finished 15th overall in the event at nationals.

Academically, Wiederkehr was named NJCAA All-Academic Third-Team in 2017 and 2020, was named Scholar All-America by the NJCAA Cross Country Coaches Association in 2017 and 2019. She is a three-time All-Academic nominee by both the FCSAA and Panhandle Conference.

Wiederkehr graduated from Braden River High School, where she ran cross country and track, and completed TCC's dental hygiene program in 2020.
