TCC student-athletes earn FCSAA, PC all-academic honors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 10, 2020) – Tallahassee Community College's academic all-stars have been recognized by both the Florida College System Activities Association and Panhandle Conference – and in record numbers.
Out of 91 eligible student-athletes, 39 made the FCSAA's All-Academic Team for attaining a 3.30 GPA or above while 51 earned Panhandle Conference honors for maintaining a 3.0 GPA or above, either in the 2019-20 academic year or over multiple years. Both numbers represented the largest all-academic contingents in program history.
Included were seven participants who were recognized in two sports – Arionne McCall, Genevieve Printiss, Kendall Ward, Rodolph Adonis, Austin Erbaio and Daniel Randolph, all members of the Eagles' cross country and track teams, and Rita James, a participant in both women's basketball and track.
The Eagles' softball team led the way on both lists with 10 FCSAA and 12 PC All-Academic selections. Baseball was next with eight FCSAA All-Academic selections and, along with men's basketball, had 10 named PC All-Academic.
Four student-athletes — Printiss, Ward, outdoor track's Mia Wiederkehr and softball's Katelyn Hobbs – earned a spot on both teams for the second straight year.
