Former TCC broadcaster Luke Fay joins Dodge City CC

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 22, 2021) – Former Tallahassee Community College Athletics broadcaster Luke Fay was recently named Marketing and Media Specialist for Dodge City (Kan.) Community College.

"I am elated to embark on a new journey as the Marketing and Media Specialist for Dodge City Community College," Fay said. "After talking to the staff in and around the college, it was a no-brainer for me to make the 20-hour leap into the Kansas Community College System."

While Fay may be moving halfway across the country for his new role, his support of TCC Athletics is unwavering.

"It was a bittersweet moment for me to depart Tallahassee. I have made so many friends and memories in my home away from home," Fay said. "TCC gave me the opportunity to cultivate my passion for wearing the headset and, for that reason, will always have a special place in my heart."

Fay enrolled at Florida State University in August 2015 and joined the Eagles two months later. Throughout his tenure at TCC, he covered women's basketball's 2018 National Championship season, milestone victories by head baseball coach Mike McCleod (#1000) and head softball coach Patti Townsend (#400), men's basketball's back-to-back Panhandle Conference Championships in 2020 and 2021, and the inception of the men's and women's cross country and track teams.

The now-FSU grad logged more than 250 broadcasts with TCC Athletics while splitting time with the student radio station and newspaper at Florida State. There, he was the Sports Director for V89 and a staff writer for the FSView.

"Luke is a great example of what can be accomplished with a tireless work ethic and a commitment to excellence," said TCC Director of Athletics Rob Chaney. "He always embraced the opportunity to be a part of TCC Athletics, he wanted to get better at his craft and our student-athletes were the beneficiaries.

"He helped move our livestream production forward and, as a result, he was able to advance his career. Luke Fay is a TCC success story, and I couldn't be happier for him."

With a degree in sport management, Fay hopes to remain engaged with athletics in some capacity at Dodge City.

Fay is not the only TCC connection to Dodge City. Former men's basketball assistant T.J. Cox was named the Conquistadors' lead assistant in June.
