TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 9, 2013) - FCSAA No. 3 Tallahassee Community College picked up its 24th victory of the season on Saturday, defeating Marion (Ala.) Military Institute, 8-1, at Eagle Field.
Tallahassee is now 24-4 heading into Sunday's non-conference finale - a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Eagle Field against the Thomas University JV squad.
The Eagles rolled up 11 hits against the Tigers' pitching on Saturday, led by Anthony Torres who was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Trent Higginbothem also went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and three RBI.
Taylor Wright started and picked up the win on the mound for Tallahassee to improve to 3-0.
Following Sunday's games against the Night Hawks, Tallahassee will take Monday and Tuesday off then head to Northwest Florida State College on Wednesday for the Panhandle Conference opener.
