From TCC to FSU: Nieporte inks with Seminoles
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 27, 2014) – Add Quincy Nieporte's name to the long list of Tallahassee Community College baseball players who continued their college career just a couple miles down Pensacola Street at Florida State University.
Earlier this week, it was announced the Seminoles signed Nieporte to an NCAA letter of intent after a standout freshman season with the Eagles.
The slugging first baseman from Atlanta, Ga., appeared in 57 games in 2014, led the team with a .374 batting average and drove in 61 runs – tops in Florida. He also smacked six home runs.
Nieporte earned first-team All-Panhandle Conference and second-team FCSAA All-State honors while helping Tallahassee claim the Panhandle Conference Wild Card and an eventual berth in the NJCAA Gulf District/FCSAA State Baseball Tournament.
At Florida State, Nieporte will join another former Eagle on the Seminoles' roster – outfielder Nick Graganella.
Nieporte is currently playing summer ball for the Morehead City Marlins of the Coastal Plain League.
