JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (February 27, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College won its eighth straight game on Tuesday, defeating Florida State College at Jacksonville, 16-4.
The Eagles will take the winning streak and a 13-6 record into Wednesday's 3 p.m. doubleheader against Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College.
Tallahassee scored in its first at-bat when Cole Vann doubled to deep right, scoring Mason Miller. The Eagles added three more runs in the third then, after the Blue Wave cut the lead in half, blew the game wide open in the fifth.
Tallahassee plated four runs in the fifth, the last two on an Alex Mills single with two outs.
The Eagles added eight more runs in the seventh, sending 12 men to the plate.
Tallahassee racked up 16 hits in the game – three each by Miller (3-3, 4 R, RBI), Mills (3-5, R, 4 RBI) and Logan Lacey (3-4, 2 R, 4 RBI).
Derick Garcia (3-1) pitched 5.2 innings in relief for the victory.
