Eagles earn split at Pasco-Hernando State

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (January 30, 2021) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team picked up its first win of the 2021 season with a 3-0 shutout in game two of Saturday's doubleheader at Pasco-Hernando State College. 

The host Bobcats scored three runs in their last at-bat to claim a 5-4 victory in game one. 

Jude Ard (1-0) started and went three innings to pick up the game two victory. He allowed only one hit and two walks while striking out four. Matt Boynton (3 IP) and Carlos Rodriguez (1 IP) allowed a combined two hits and no walks over the final four innings. 

Offensively, Trey Bacon went 2-for-3 with a double. Jeissy De La Cruz was 0-for-1 but walked three times. He and Spencer Hanson had an RBI each. 

In game one, the Bobcats rallied against Bacon (0-1), who came on in the seventh with the Eagles in front 4-2. 

De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Andrew Fernandez hit a solo homer. 

Tallahassee will return to action at 3 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Edward Waters College's JV for a doubleheader.
