SCF sweeps DH from Tallahassee

BRADENTON, Fla. (February 20, 2021) – State College of Florida swept a doubleheader from Tallahassee Community College's baseball team on Saturday, winning by the scores of 4-0 and 7-6.

Tallahassee is now 7-9 on the season. 

The Manatees' Daniel Batcher tossed a complete-game shutout in the day's first game. 

Jude Ard took the loss for the Eagles. He pitched four innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out four. 

Spencer Hanson and Bryson Kirksey had the Eagles' two hits. 

In game two, the Eagles scored three runs in the top of the sixth to grab a 6-5 lead but it was short-lived. Harrison Long's two-run double in the bottom half scored the tying and go-ahead runs. 

Matt Boynton took the loss for Tallahassee. 

Trent Jeffcoat was 3-for-5 to pace the Eagles offensively. 

Tallahassee will return to action at 4 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College.
