Eagles fall in high-scoring affair 

PENSACOLA, Fla. (April 21, 2021) – Pensacola State College knocked off Tallahassee Community College, 10-7, in Wednesday evening baseball action.   

After both teams scored a pair of runs in their first at-bat, Pensacola State added single runs in the second and third innings to take a 4-2 lead.  

The Eagles scored four times in the fourth to surge ahead, 6-4.   

Nick Niewulis led off the inning with a double then scored on Orlando Adams' single. After Jeissy De La Cruz singled Adams to third, he scored on a Pensacola State error to tie the game at 4-all.   

Bryson Kirksey's two-run homer put the Eagles in front, 6-4.  

The Pirates had a big inning of their own in the fifth, scoring four times to retake the lead, 8-6. They added a run in the sixth for a 9-6 lead.   

Tallahassee got a run back in the seventh when a two-out error scored Andrew Fernandez, but the Pirates got the run back in the bottom of the eighth.   

Niewulis and De La Cruz had two hits apiece. Trent Jeffcoat went 3-for-5.   

Dylan Faulkner (3-2) took the loss for Tallahassee.   

The Eagles will hit the field again at 5 p.m. Thursday when they host Gulf Coast State College.
