TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 11, 2014) -The Tallahassee Community College Eagles fell to Pensacola State College 62-49 in Tuesday's Panhandle Conference matchup. Tallahassee has now lost three straight games with two games left to play in the season.

Tallahassee (13-13, 2-8 PC) came into Tuesday evening's game looking to snap its two-game losing skid against a Pensacola State (18-10, 6-4 PC) team that is ranked No. 6 in the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll.

The Eagles returned home on Tuesday after dropping two close games on the road to FCSAA No. 3 Chipola College and FCSAA No. 1 Northwest Florida State College.

Pensacola State dominated the first 20 minutes in all areas of the game, and it showed on the stat sheet. The Pirates came out of the locker room with a hot hand, shooting over 60 percent from the field. The Eagles took three more shots than Pensacola State and only converted on eight of them, shooting 30 percent.

Pensacola State had half as many turnovers as the Eagles and three times the amount of assists in the first half. Tallahassee's Cameron Naylor was the team's leading scorer with eight points at the break. There was still a sizeable lead on the scoreboard at halftime despite Dirk Williams knocking down a three at the buzzer.

The Pirates jogged back into their locker room with a 41-23 lead.

The second half was more of the same. Despite their effort to take the ball to the rim and get more high-percentage looks, the Eagles could not stop Pensacola State from scoring and cut into the deficit. The Pirates held roughly a 20-point advantage throughout most of the second half.

Tallahassee made a late push with less than three minutes to go, cutting the lead down to 13.

Williams and Cameron Dozier were the only two Eagles who finished in double figures. Williams scored 15 points while Dozier had ten and six assists as well.

This game was just a quick pit-stop for the Eagles before hitting the road again as they travel to Panama City on Saturday, February 15 to take on Gulf Coast State College. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. eastern.
