Eagles host Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic December 28-29
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 26, 2015) - Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team concludes its non-conference schedule on Monday and Tuesday when it hosts the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome.
The two-day event will feature four teams and four games – two each day – beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday when Pensacola State College (6-6) tips things off against Central Georgia Technical College (9-4).
Tallahassee (9-7) will play Shelton (Ala.) State Community College (10-4) in Monday's nightcap, scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m.
Day two action begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pensacola State and Shelton State followed by Tallahassee and Central Georgia Tech at 4 p.m.
Tallahassee's games are scheduled to air live online at TCCeagles.com.
Tallahassee is 4-0 at home under first-year head coach Mark White, winning by an average of 48 points per game. Two of the lesser frequent non-conference opponents will try to slow down the Eagles' home court dominance.
Tallahassee is 3-1 vs. Shelton State, with the last meeting coming December 31, 2011, in the same post-Christmas classic. The Eagles won that game 78-62.
Like Tallahassee, Shelton State will bring a modest two-game winning streak into Monday evening's contest.
Meanwhile, Tuesday's game will be just the second-ever meeting with Central Georgia Tech. The Eagles and Titans met on November 3, 2012, a game won by Tallahassee at home, 74-72.
Central Georgia Tech enters on a two-game losing streak, including one to Gordon (Ga.) State College, a team Tallahassee has beaten twice, including 111-58 at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome on December 15.
Monday and Tuesday continues a five-game homestand for Tallahassee, which concludes Saturday, January 2 when Pensacola State returns to open Panhandle Conference play.
General admission for the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic is $5. TCC students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid TCC ID.
Tallahassee Community College Athletics would like to thank the Leon County Tourist Development Council and Wendy's for its support of the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic.
