Eagles roll on day one of Shootout

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (December 14, 2019) – NJCAA No. 8/Region 8 No. 1 Tallahassee Community College turned in another dominating performance on Saturday, defeating Broward College, 100-64, on the first day of play at the Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout. 

The Eagles have won seven in a row for the second time this season and now sit at 14-1 overall. 

Already leading 48-31 at the half, Tallahassee came out red hot in the second half. The Eagles shot 56.3 percent (18-of-32) in the final 20 minutes and limited the Seahawks to just 38.9 percent (14-of-36) from the field. 

Despite playing without injured starters Rifen Miguel and Kailex Stephens, the Eagles still had five players score in double-figures. 

El Ellis led the way with 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Tariq Silver hit 5-of-7 shots from long distance and finished with 15. 

Jordan Guest had 11 points, and DeAndre Gholston and DeAndre Robinson had 10 each. 

Tallahassee will face Miami Dade College at 11 a.m. Sunday morning in Gainesville.
