Eagles win first game at Thanksgiving Classic

The Eagles played their opening game of the Chipola Thanksgiving Classic on Friday, defeating the LSU Eunice Bengals 68-54. TCC improved to 7-1 and gave the Bengals their first loss of the season.

Addison Patterson led the team in scoring with 23 points. Two additional Eagles scored in double figures and the team shot 46.4% from the field. It was a tight matchup throughout the first half, with the Eagles holding on to a 29-28 lead at the break. Their offense began to open up much more in the second half, outscoring LSU Eunice 39-26.

The win marks the team's sixth straight. They will try to extend that tomorrow afternoon in a rematch against Southern Union to wrap up the Chipola Thanksgiving Classic at 3:00 PM CT. The Bison won the first matchup 82-79 on November 11, 2022, and are still yet to lose a game this season.
