Eagles shine on ESPN+

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 19, 2022) - In one of the loudest games in recent memory inside the Bill Hebrock Eagledome, the seventh-ranked Eagles picked up an 86-69 win over the 11th-ranked Daytona State Falcons. TCC's winning streak is now at 14 games, marking the longest streak since the 2018-19 season when the team rattled off 16 in a row to open the campaign.

The Eagles' offense exploded in front of a crowd of over 350. "I want to say thank you to everyone from the community who came out to support us tonight," said head coach Rick Cabrera. "I hope they saw how talented our guys are and want to come back."

Three point shooting helped TCC take a lead into the break. Isaiah Cathey (G, Soph.) hit three from beyond the arc early on, leading to a career-high 11 points scored.

"I was hoping the team came out strong at the beginning of the game to get rid of any jitters," said Cabrera. "Having a player like Isaiah shoot the ball like that was the boost we needed."

Although the Eagles never trailed after the first few minutes, the game remained close well into the second half, before TCC created several turnovers that resulted in points on the other end. Addison Patterson (G, Soph.) threw down a pair of thunderous dunks that kept the crowd engaged until the final buzzer sounded.

Patterson shot 60% from the field and finished with 21 points, leading the team. It was his eighth game of the season with at least 20 points. Tom Mark (F, Soph.) scored 15 points and added 11 rebounds, recording his first double double of the season. Mark also added five assists, three blocks, and a steal to his tally, contributing in every aspect of the game.

The Eagles have one more game before going on the holiday break, taking on Albany Tech tomorrow at 4:00 PM inside the Eagledome.
