Four Men's Basketball Players Receive All-Conference Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 3, 2023) — All-Panhandle Conference Teams and Awards were released by the FCSAA on Friday afternoon, and four Men's Basketball players received honors. Malachi Davis, Addison Patterson, and Tom Mark were all named to the First-Team All-Panhandle Conference. Okechukwu Okeke received Second-Team honors.

Malachi Davis finished the regular season averaging 13.9 points per game, good for sixth in the Panhandle Conference. He shot 50.8% from the field, and 34% from three. He also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. On February 4 against Gulf Coast State, he scored a career-high 33 points.

Tom Mark finished the regular season with 9.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. Mark's most noticeable contributions came while defending the rim, as he's currently averaging 2.3 blocks per game, which ranks him second in Region 8. On November 11 against Southern Union State, Mark recorded six blocks. Mark also ranks second in Region 8 in field goal percentage (60.6%). His season-high in scoring came on day later when he dropped 19 points against Coastal Alabama – South.

Addison Patterson led the league in scoring during conference play. During his 12 Panhandle games, Patterson averaged 21.4 points on 53.9% shooting. He also led the league in steals (2.8) per game. Across the entire regular season, Patterson is averaging 19.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

Okechukwu Okeke manned the center position for TCC throughout the regular season, and did so with authority. Appearing in all 30 regular season games, Okeke is averaging 9.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. His 65% field goal percentage leads the Panhandle Conference and Region 8,  and ranks 18th nationally.

Men's Basketball's season continues next week at the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Tournament in Niceville, Florida. They'll take on Florida SouthWestern State in the first round on Thursday, March 9 at 3:00 PM CST. Winning the tournament guarantees the Eagles a spot at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.
