Bio

Former Tallahassee Community College basketball player Casey Clayton is serving as a volunteer assistant, his first coaching opportunity at the collegiate level.

Clayton, a native of Tallahassee and graduate of Maclay School, was a walk-on player for then-head coach Eddie Barnes' Eagles in 2007-08. Academically, he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and graduated with honors from TCC in 2010 then earned a bachelor's in sport management from Florida State University in 2011. 

While at Florida State, he served as a team manager for head coach Leonard Hamilton's Seminoles, whose roster included former Eagle and future NBA player Bernard James. 

From 2011-13, Clayton served as athletic director at Aaron Academy, a private school in Hendersonville, Tenn. In 2013, Clayton returned to his alma mater and joined the Maclay family as a physical education teacher and basketball coach. 

Clayton has also built a nice resume as a camp instructor, working at TCC, Belmont University and Lipscomb University, as well as Nike Elite Skills Camps.
