2 Cross Country Runners Set Personal Records at FSU Open

On Friday, October 7, the TCC Cross Country team ran in the FSU Open at Apalachee Regional Park. Running amongst four-year institutions such as Florida State, Miami, and LSU, as well as other junior colleges, two Eagles set personal records. Arielle Valdes set a personal best of with a time of 21:50 in the Women's 5K. She is 49 seconds away from scoring within the top ten all-time marks in school history. Merlica Faustin also improved her time from the previous race. On the Men's side, Jesse Boyd also set a personal best, breaking 29:00 for the first time in his career. His 28:56 time in the 8K puts him within 36 seconds of TCC's all-time top ten. 

The Eagles' will be back at Apalechee Regional Park on Friday, October 28 for the NJCAA Region 8 Championships, their last meet before the National Championships in November.
