Eagles rout Bishop State in record-breaking fashion

NICEVILLE, Fla. (December 15, 2015) – NJCAA No. 25/NJCAA Region 8 No. 5 Tallahassee Community College set a school-record for fewest points allowed in a game on Tuesday, defeating Bishop (Ala.) State Community College, 71-22, at the Northwest Florida State College Winter Classic.

The 22 points allowed bested the previous mark of 27, established almost one year to the day, December 17, 2014 – also by Bishop State, and also at Northwest Florida State's Winter Classic. It also marked the third time the Eagles have allowed fewer than 30 points under Coach Franqua "Q" Bedell.

The Eagles (11-3) have won eight straight games and will try to make it nine a row on Wednesday and gain a measure of revenge at the same time when they face Georgia Highlands College at 2 p.m. eastern.

Playing on its home floor, Georgia Highlands defeated Tallahassee on November 14.

All eight players who dressed for the Eagles on Tuesday made their way into the scoring column, led by Lawriell Wilson's 24 points.

Wilson also recorded eight rebounds, three assists and six steals.

Monique Calliste was the only other player in double-figures with 12.

Destiney McQueen just missed a double-double, scoring nine points to go along with 12 rebounds. Janessa Murphy added eight points, and Lindsay John tossed in six as did Sabrina Banks, who saw limited minutes in her first game back since injuring her ankle December 3.

John also dished out eight assists.

Destoni Willock scored four and Jakeriah Henderson, two.

For all intents and purposes, Tuesday's game was decided after one quarter, as Tallahassee took a commanding 32-8 lead.

The Eagles held Bishop State to single-digits all four quarters, including a two-point second period which enabled Tallahassee to carry a 45-10 lead to the locker room.

The Eagles extended their lead to 65-18 after three quarters.
