Four Women’s Basketball Players make All-Conference Teams

TALLAHASSEE, FL (February 25th, 2022) - Polina Nikulochkina was named to the All-Panhandle Conference First Team on Friday morning.

Polina was the Eagles leading scorer this season, averaging 14.3 points per game. That total made her the fifth-highest scorer in the Panhandle Conference and eleventh in Region VIII. In her third season with Tallahassee, Polina scored over 20 points on four different occasions, including a season-high 28 scored at Gulf Coast State on January 29th.

The Eagles also landed three players on the All-Panhandle Conference Second Team: Ana Nikulochkina, Myanna Garrett, and Sedayjha Payne

Ana Nikulochkina averaged 13.3 points per game, making her the team's second-leading scorer. Ana led the way through the first eight games of the season before picking up an injury that kept her sidelined through January 26th. In those games, she averaged over 15 points per game and scored a season-high 25 points (one point away from her career-high of 26) in a 60-59 victory over South Georgia Tech. In that game, Ana hit a shot at the buzzer to secure the Eagles' first win of the season.

Myanna Garrett averaged 6.9 points and 0.5 steals per game this season, contributing on both ends of the floor for Tallahassee. Myanna grew as an offensive threat throughout the season, scoring in double digits in three of the last four conference games. Her best performance came on November 12th against Miami Dade College, scoring 15 points and bringing in 8 rebounds.

Sedayjha Payne was the next-closest Eagles to finish the season in double-digit scoring, averaging 9.6 points per game. She scored 22 points on December 18th at Indian River State, going 10-15 from the field. Payne led the team with 1.6 rebounds per game, and also registered 0.4 steals.

"I'm truly humbled to have the opportunity to coach these young ladies and experience their growth in the game," said Head Coach Joe Cohen. "May they continue to have abundant success in life and with the game of basketball."
