Women's Basketball falls to Santa Fe 73-54

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 29, 2022) - The Eagles returned to the Bill Hebrock Eagledome after a short Thanksgiving break to face the Santa Fe Saints. This was the third time these two teams have met this season with Santa Fe winning the first two matchups. The score was tight in the first half, with the Saints going into the break with a 35-31 lead. Ultimately, the Saints pulled away in the second half and leave victorious with a final score of 73-54.

"They stayed pretty true to what they've done all three games," said head coach Merecedes Corona about how Santa Fe set up for their third game against the Eagles this season. "It was just a matter of us buckling down and needing to hit shots."

Skylar Bailey (G, Fresh.), shot 7-11 from the field, scoring 18 in the loss. "It definitely helps (my confidence) a lot, but it also helps my teammates who are looking to set me up," said Bailey.

Danesha Boles contributed strongly to the team as well, coming away with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

Looking ahead, the Eagles head to Santa Fe College on Friday, December 2 to take on the St. Petersburg Titans in the Florida JUCO Shootout. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM and will be streamed on the Saints Sports Network.  This will be the first meeting between these two teams as TCC seeks a win on the road.
