Stepping Stones: Brooks Buckler, Kennesaw State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 6, 2017) – Kennesaw State University head baseball coach Mike Sansing has had a close eye on Tallahassee Community College’s Brooks Buckler for some time.

Sansing will get to watch Buckler up close and personal over the next two years as the Eagles’ right-handed pitcher has signed a national letter of intent with Kennesaw State.

“Whether it was his time as an East Cobb Astro, a Norcross Blue Devil, a Tallahassee Eagle, or Atlanta Cracker, one thing has remained the same and that is Brooks is a competitor and a winner,” said Sansing.

Buckler will not have far to travel when enjoying his new digs. The Kennesaw State campus is only 30 minutes from Buckler’s hometown of Norcross, Ga.

Buckler, who wrapped up his two-year career with the Eagles in May, finished with a career record of 7-6 with three saves in 37 appearances.

Following his freshman season in 2016, Buckler was one of 26 NJCAA participants selected to play for Team USA in the National Baseball Congress World Series.

Located in Kennesaw, Ga., Kennesaw State competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
