HOME OF THE TALLAHASSEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE EAGLES

More road tests await TCC men, women

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 16, 2012) – Tallahassee Community College's men's and women's basketball teams will celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday inside the friendly confines of the Bill Hebrock Eagledome. Before next week's holiday hoops, however, both teams will wrap up separate four-game road trips.

The Lady Eagles, 4-0 and ranked No. 3 in the state, will play another pair of Region 8 opponents in Ocala, Fla., at the CF Shootout, an event hosted by the College of Central Florida. Tallahassee will play No. 8 Daytona State College (5-1) at 6 p.m. Friday and No. 7 Santa Fe College (3-3) at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday's game will be the second meeting with Santa Fe in ten days. Tallahassee picked up a 69-60 win over the Saints in Marianna, Fla., at last week's Collegiate Girls Basketball Report Classic.

The games will also be Tallahassee's first as a nationally-ranked opponent this season. The Lady Eagles, unranked in the preseason poll, garnered a No. 12 ranking in the NJCAA's first regular season poll of the season, released on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Tallahassee men (2-2) will wrap up a true four-game road trip with games at St. Petersburg College (4-1) at 7 p.m. Friday and Daytona State (1-5) at 4 p.m. Saturday, a weekend trip that has become a staple of Eddie Barnes' schedule.

Tallahassee split the first two games of the current road trip – falling by one point at Santa Fe on November 9 and winning by three in overtime at Florida State College at Jacksonville on November 12. In fact, all four of Tallahassee's games have been decided by three points or less.

Following this weekend's action, the teams will host the annual TCC Thanksgiving Classic on Wednesday and Thursday, November 21 and 22.
