PENSACOLA, Fla. (January 7, 2015) - Elmo Stephen scored a career-high 33 points to lead FCSAA No. 4 Tallahassee Community College past No. 9 Pensacola State College 71-55 in Panhandle Conference men's basketball action on Wednesday evening.

Stephen, tonight's TCC Eagle of the Game, knocked down 7-of-10 three-point shots on the night and finished 10-of-17 overall from the field and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line.

The Eagles improved to 1-1 in PC play and 15-4 on the season.

The first half featured six lead changes before Tallahassee was able to slowly pull away and build a nine-point lead at the intermission (35-26).

Dirk Williams, the Eagles' leading scorer, went scoreless in the first half going 0-for-5.  But Stephen more than made up for it with 17 points while pulling down five rebounds.

While Stephen's hot hand continued in the second half, Williams also began to hit his stride, knocking down a couple of crucial three-pointers that stalled rallies by the host Pirates.  Williams ended the night with eight points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Eagles were able to hold the Pirates to 35 percent shooting on the night and limited leading scorer Johnell Ginnie to 12 points.

Tallahassee will return home on Saturday to face Gulf Coast State College at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome.  The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $5 while TCC students, faculty and staff get in free with a valid TCC ID.
