Eagles Hit The Road To Face Conference Rival Chipola College

TALLAHASSEE (Fla.) – The Tallahassee Eagles hit the road to take on Panhandle Conference arch-rival Chipola College Tuesday night.

The Eagle women will play in the first game that is scheduled for 6:30p.m eastern time.  The Eagle women are currently 3-0 in conference play for the first time since the 1997 season.  The Eagles are 18-3 on the season and are lead by sophomore guard Cat Wells

Wells leads the team in scoring with 14.2 points a game and is also the team leader in assists and steals.  Wendion Bibbins leads the team in rebounding grabbing 5.9 boards a game.

The task for the Eagles will not be an easy one as they face off with Chipola College.  The Indians are the no. 1 team in the nation and have an unblemished 18-0 record.  Chipola ranks sixth in the NJCAA in points scored per game at 86.9 and also distribute the ball efficiently and are the no. 1 ranked team in assists.

The Indians are lead by Evelyn Akhator who leads the team in scoring and rebounding.  Akhator averages 23.2-points on 62 percent shooting and 16.4 rebounds per game this season.

Chipola holds the series lead over the Eagle women 25-32.

The men's teams will face each other in the final game of the night set to tip-off at 8:30 p.m. eastern time.  The Eagles are coming off a loss to Gulf Coast State College and are looking to get back to .500 in the Panhandle Conference.  Tallahassee is currently 15-5 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.

Dirk Williams and Elmo Stephen lead the Eagles in scoring with both averaging over 15 points a game this season.  The Eagles are led defensively by Cameron Smith, who has missed the last two games but is expected to be active for tonight's game.

The Indians are coming into this game with an 8-11 record are 1-1in conference play.  Junior Saintel leads the team in scoring with 15.6 per game and Dejuan Marrero leads the team defensively with 13.2 rebounds per game. 

Chipola holds a series lead over the Eagle men 31-41.  Last season the Eagles went 2-1 against the Indians and will look to improve that this year.  In the past the Eagles have not faired well on the road going 15-21.
