TCC men’s outdoor track & field lauded for academic success

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 9, 2021) – Tallahassee Community College's men's outdoor track & field team has been named one of two Male Academic Teams of the Year by the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA). 

The Eagles' received the nod among male team nominees with 10 or fewer participants. Daytona State College's baseball team was recognized as the top male team with more than 10 participants. 

Seven participants – Rodolph Adonis, Bryce Bass, Mat Maier, Shawn Marcum, Tristen Owens, Ke'Adre Thompson and Nasir Washington – comprised Tallahassee's team entry, who delivered a 3.48 team GPA over the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 terms. 

Six of the seven – Adonis, Bass, Maier, Marcum, Owens and Thompson – earned Panhandle Conference All-Academic recognition for a minimum 3.0 GPA while Adonis, Bass, Marcum, Owens and Thompson also earned FCSAA All-Academic honors for posting a minimum 3.3 GPA. 

The recognition was part of the FCSAA's Athletic and Academic Awards for the 2020-21 season and included Female Academic Teams of the Year, as well as Male and Female Athlete of the Year, and Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. All awards were voted on by the FCSAA's Council for Athletic Affairs' Executive Board.
