#TCCSoftball: Eagles split with Lake Land

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 11, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College played its final Panhandle Conference tune-up on Saturday, splitting a doubleheader with Lake Land (Ill.) College.

Both games ended with 11 runs scored by the winning team. Tallahassee came out on top in game two, 11-5, to earn the split.

In game one, Lake Land jumped out to a 3-0 lead after its first at-bat and cruised to the 11-3, five-inning victory.

In game two, Lake Land again scored three runs in its first at-bat. This time, however, Tallahassee had an answer.

Elisa Cecchetti singled home Kristin Gunter and the Eagles added a second run in the first on Samantha Malik's sac-fly to cut into the Lakers' lead.

After the game in the second, Tallahassee took the lead for good in the third on Malik's solo homer, her eighth of the season.

Tallahassee will open PC play on Tuesday when it hosts Chipola College for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
