WBK: Eagles hosts Applebee’s Women’s Classic November 14-15

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 13, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team will host the Applebee's Women's Classic, Friday and Saturday, November 14 and 15. 

The event, which features a mixed schedule of high school and collegiate games, begins at noon Friday when Northwest Florida State College takes on Andrew (Ga.) College. 

Tallahassee will play at 4 p.m. Friday against Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College and at 7:30 p.m. Saturday against Andrew, the last of nine games during the two-day event. 

Prep action commences at 2 p.m. Friday when Leon High School takes on national power New Hope (N.C.) Christian Academy and continues at 6:30 p.m. when Maclay tips off against Pensacola Washington High School. 

Friday's slate concludes at 8:30 p.m. when Roxbury (Mass.) Community College plays Atlanta Metro State College. 

Saturday's quadruple header begins at 1 p.m. Prior to the Tallahassee-Andrew finale, the evening session tips off at 5:30 p.m. with New Hope Christian Academy and FAMU DRS. 

A win on Friday would give Tallahassee its first 4-0 start since 2012. 

Eagle Basketball Game Notes

Tallahassee is currently ranked No. 4 in the FCSAA Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll...Tallahassee is 3-1 all-time against Chattahoochee Valley but this will only be the second meeting between the teams in Tallahassee. The only other time the teams faced off inside the Bill Hebrock Eagledome was December 3, 1994. The teams' last meeting was November 16, 2013, in Phenix City, Ala., a game won by the Eagles, 86-57…Tallahassee and Andrew have only met on one previous occasions – a 93-64 win by the Eagles in Albany, Ga., November 4, 2011.
