Eagle Women Remain Unbeaten with 82-50 Victory over Chattahoochee Valley CC

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 14, 2014) - The Tallahassee Community College women's basketball team cruised to an 82-50 victory over Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College in the Applebee's Women's Classic held at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome on Friday. 

After a slow start the Eagles found their rhythm pulling out to a 17-point lead at halftime.  The Eagles began the second half the same way they ended the first and outscored the Pirates by 15-points in the second half.

The Eagles where led by sophomore guard Cat Wells, who leads the team in scoring.  Wells scored 17 points on 4-10 shooting and was sent to the free throw line on multiple occasions where she went 9-10.  Wells was also credited with 2 rebounds and 3 assists. 

Eboni Watts and Jahniece Jaffe both contributed to the Eagles success on offense. Watts added 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting which included four three-pointers where she shot 50 percent.  Jaffe added 13 points on 3-6 shooting and went 4-4 from the free throw line.     

The Eagles dominated the boards pulling down 18 offensive rebounds that translated into 15 second chance points.  Karley Barnes led the team in rebounds with nine and Benedicta Makakala lead the team with four assists.

The Eagles will take on Andrew (Ga.) College in the final game of the classic tomorrow, November 14, at 7:30. 

The Applebee's Women's Classic features six junior college teams while also showcasing talent from both local and nationally ranked high schools.
