Eagle women fall at Central Florida

OCALA, Fla. (December 3, 2014) – NJCAA No. 12/FCSAA No. 3 Tallahassee Community College saw its four-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday night at the hands of the College of Central Florida, falling to the Patriots 65-55.

Tallahassee is now 9-2 on the season while Central Florida, who gained a split of the teams' home-and-home series with the win, improved to 8-3.

A back-and-forth first half ended with Central Florida in front 33-32, and the Patriots took control with an 11-2 run over the first 10 ½ minutes of the second half. Included was an eight-minute scoring drought which finally ended on Karley Barnes' baseline jumper at the 9:30 mark.

Barnes' basket left the Eagles trailing by only eight, 44-36, but the damage was done.

Eboni Watts and Cat Wells scored 13 points each to lead Tallahassee. Barnes added nine points and five rebounds. Wendion Bibbins scored five points and pulled down ten rebounds.

With final exams on the horizon, Tallahassee will enjoy an eight-day break before returning to action Friday, December 12 at St. Petersburg College's Lady Titan Tourney. The Eagles will face host St. Petersburg at 7 p.m., December 12 and Miami Dade College at noon, December 13.
